To put this in perspective, those with the highest levels of these 6 toxins had 3,800% greater risk of blood sugar problems such as diabetes II.

The toxins wreak havoc with the cells in the pancreas that produce insulin. Insulin is absolutely necessary for every cell in the body in order to metabolize glucose, the chief raw fuel for quick energy.

To put the gravity and seriousness of this epidemic of toxins, here is a quote from a highly respected author and researcher, Nan Kathryn Fuchs PhD…“our world is so full of toxins it’s nearly impossible to avoid them.  Every day another forty-two billion gallons of chemicals are dumped on unsuspecting Americans.  That’s enough toxins to fill 623,000 tanker trucks in a line that could straddle the globe three times.”

Dr. Fuchs also reports on 3 other studies:
•    The CDC says as many 148 different chemicals were found in a test of blood samples on 2,400 Americans.
•    National Geographic spent $15,000 on one of their reporters to test for toxins.  The results they found in him were alarming.  A flame retardant chemical was found in such quantity that it exceeded what was found in factory workers who produced the stuff.
•    Mt. Sinai School of Medicine found 167 different toxins in the blood and urine of volunteers.  The average amount was 91 different toxins per person.
To my knowledge no study on toxins has ever found anyone without toxins in their blood and/or urine.

When combinations of chemicals are found in the body, their toxic effects are greatly multiplied beyond the sum total of each together. Dr. Fuchs cites the example of dioxin and PCB’s together producing toxicity “eight hundred times greater than either chemical alone”…according to a study followed by “Environmental Health Perspectives”.

Another example cited: A mixture of 4 popular food additives is 700% more toxic than any individual ingredient alone. The journal of “Toxicological Sciences” reports the “combination of aspartame, mono sodium glutamate (MSG) and the artificial colorings quinoline yellow and brilliant blue causes nerve damage.” These food additives are commonly found in our food supply.

In various studies, 6 common pollutant toxins cause blood sugar problems.  According to a report from “Diabetes Care” (mentioned by Dr. Fuchs) those with the highest levels of these 6 toxins have a 3,800 % times greater blood sugar problems than those with the lowest toxin levels.

Why is the impact on your blood sugar so significant?  The shocking figures on diabetes II and its precursor, Syndrome X, make it clear. Few families will escape without one or more of their members succumbing to diabetes II.

The American Heart Association estimates that somewhere between 58 million and 73 million (one out of 4 or 5) Americans will be hit with Syndrome X.  Unless this condition is reversed, diabetes II is the end result. Why would the American Heart Association be concerned about the development of diabetes II?   The American Diabetes Association says that 65% of diabetics will ultimately die of heart disease.

Why poor sugar metabolism leads to the number one killer in America, cardiovascular disease, can be summarized by the following:
•    High blood sugar levels…they are inflammatory
•    Insulin resistance causes high blood levels of insulin…this is inflammatory (too much or too little insulin is bad)
•    High triglyceride fatty acids…are inflammatory
•    High blood pressure…increases the incidence of cardiovascular accidents (stroke, heart attack)
•    Abdominal fat accumulation is a depository for toxins and this increases heart disease
•    Inflammation causes oxidized LDL (bad cholesterol) and skyrockets atherosclerosis and heart disease
•    Lowers HDL…it reduces the good cholesterol needed for hormone and vitamin D production
