HDL Cholesterol & Heart Attacks…Bad Information

High levels of HDL cholesterol are supposed to confer lower heart attack rates because of a phenomenon called “reverse cholesterol transport”. The problem with this is some people with low levels of HDL cholesterol have fewer cardiac events. The real problem seems to be inflammation in the blood.
