COBAT… Immunity & Fatigue Regulation

By admin | October 12, 2009

COBAT is an energy enhancer that contains primarily 2 amino-acid ingredients: taurine and beta-alanine. It functions as an adaptogen.  This means that rather than just increasing or diminishing a substance in the body, it regulates it.  In other words if too much is present it is reduced, if not enough is present it increases it.

Fatigue is a complex equation in your body’s chemistry. Many many factors are involved…hormones, nutrients, disease, pollutants and biochemical imbalances of blood sugar.  Well researched elsewhere and reported in my blog are the chief energy supplements of D-Ribose, L-Carnitine and CoQ-10. They are essential to energy production in all cells of your body, especially the heart.   Let’s examine a less reported energy builder…COBAT.

What makes COBAT different from other energy enhancers is its immune enhancing benefits. According to Health Sciences Institute over 100 billion dollars are spent on stimulants to combat fatigue.  (caffeine, amphetamines and herbal remedies)

The problems with stimulants is they hyper-accelerate at first and then there is a rebound in the opposite direction…fatigue results. Caffeine is a good example.  It stimulates the release of glucose to supply quick energy but after 1 hour the energy declines and ultimately after 3 or 4 hours there is greater fatigue than before the original stimulation.

Cytokines are proteins that come from various white blood cells. White blood cells are the primary defenders and the immune armies for your body.  Increasing the cytokines stimulates white blood cells.  The body responds well to disease but cytokines also stimulate production of more, unnecessary, cytokines.  This is significant in cancer research and this is why COBAT is important to both regulating energy and also enhancing immune function. (too many cytokines can produce chronic fatigue… muscle pain, weakness & brain fog.) COBAT appears to reduce the fatigue and detrimental side effects of chemotherapy by its adaptogenic nature.

Research, while not extensive, does point to significant benefits of COBAT (acronym for carbobenzoxy beta-alanine-taurine.)  Drs. Floyd Taub, and Thomas Dunn of the University of Maryland found this immune enhancement with COBAT:

Cytokine findings by Aristo Vodjani, PhD of Immuno Sciences Labs:

Other research does indeed find as much as a 52% increase in energy with COBAT…according to the Health Research Institute...Denis Van Loan D.D.S.
