Coronary Heart Disease-Atherosclerosis & Chelation

By admin | March 10, 2009

A common cause of coronary heart disease is atherosclerosis. What this means is that the arteries accumulate a plaque lining that consists of heavy amounts of cholesterol (the LDL type) and calcium.  This greatly increases the incidence of heart attack and stroke.

Diet and supplements can reverse this plaque of atherosclerosis over a period of time.  When heavy deposits have accumulated and are a serious threat, alternative heart doctors often recommend chelation. What is chelation?  It is a mild organic acid, in the blood stream called EDTA. What this acid does is bind to the plaque ingredients, especially the calcium, cholesterol and any heavy metals.  These compound are then excreted through the kidneys into the urine.

Two time Nobel prize winner, Dr. Linus Pauling recommends this therapy for atherosclerosis even though it is often ignored by many doctors. Drug companies would like you to think that expensive heart drugs are the answer to atherosclerosis but simple chelation can produce dramatic results in reducing arterial plaque. While oral chelation is not as rapid in elimination of the arterial plaque as is the intravenous, it is nonetheless effective over several months of treatment at much less cost.

Intravenous administration of EDTA has a better record of more rapid and effective chelation therapy than oral administration. Either way you should consult a medical doctor who is familiar with chelation and able to supervise the administration of it…Denis Van Loan, D.D.S.
